Avacor – The Same Minoxidil, Three Times the Price!

Avacor - Regular Minoxidil, Very Expensive

Avacor is an American brand of hair treatments, principally Minoxidil.  They also promote hair loss shampoos and dietary supplement designed to foster and maintain healthy hair.  Avacor 5% Minoxidil is exactly the same as Kirkland Minoxidil, just three times more expensive.

Avacor.  Minoxidil by Another Name

As of today (23rd August, 2018), a one-month supply of Avacor brand 5% Minxidil costs $39.99- that’s a little over £31 per bottle.  £31.00!!  Kirkland Minoxidil contains EXACTLY the same ingredient – Minoxidil (5%), alcohol, propylene glycol and purified water – and is about ONE THIRD the price.

We think it’s what one might call, a ‘no-brainer’.

Forget Avacor.  Use Kirkland Minoxidil

Minoxidil has been known for years, as an effective hair loss treatment.  Not only will it stop further hair loos, but actually regenerates new hairs from old follicles though long gone.

Originally developed as a treatment for high blood pressure, clinical tests showed many patients had increased hair growth.  These original trials were conducted with oral (in tablet form) Minoxidil, but even better results were obtained applying the Minoxidil directly to the skin – that’s why it’s called ‘topical’ solution.

Minoxidil works by increasing blood flow to the follicles on your head – or anywhere else.  Countless tests of Minoxidil have shown significant increases in hair growth after about 3-4 months of regular use.  By ‘regular’, we mean as recommended, which would be application two times per day, 1ml of Minoxidil.

Application of Minoxidil

Following the recommended guidelines for application is so important if you are to get the best results from your Minoxidil treatment.  It may take a little commitment, but it will be worth it!

Firstly, make sure your head and hair (or face, if you’re growing a beard) are absolutely clean and dry.  If you can, why not use one of the many hair restoring shampoos?  There’s no real evidence they will work to regrow your hair on their own, but it’s likely they will improve the condition of your hair.

Anyway, once clean and dry, take your Minoxidil solution and, using the dropper supplied, dab 1ml (it’s marked on the dropper) over the areas of your head/face.  Try to distribute the Minox evenly, then gently massage in to your skin with your fingertips.

Once you feel you’ve massaged enough, leave the treated area for at least two hours – preferably four hours – alone and do not get it wet.  Rain or sweat will just dilute and wash away the Minoxidil.

Make it part of your daily routine.  If you follow these guidelines for 4 months, you will see very favourable results in hair regrowth and overall appearance.

What is ‘Shedding’?

Yes, we know about the dreaded shedding!  It can be a little scary, but it’s just part of the process of regrowing new hair.

Sometimes, within the first two weeks or so, or application, your hair will fall out faster than before the treatment.  This is because the Minoxidil forces your hair follicles in to what’s called the ‘anogen stage’, where hair is grown.  Basically, your old weak hairs are being pushed out, so new healthy ones can grow in.  More about the hair growth cycle.
