Minoxidil for Beards. Does it work? It certainly does! Bigger, bushier beards are achievable with some time, dedication and care. Your perfect beard will not grow overnight, but the anecdotal evidence of Minoxidil Liquid Solution is compelling, to say the least!
Minoxidil for Beards. Bigger, Bushier, Better!
More Hair, More Beard
You only need to Google it, Minoxidil absolutely encourages the growth of hair – (almost) everywhere on your body. Now, it does need saying… there is no medical proof that Minoxidil will grow a bigger beard, and the evidence is only anecdotal, but said Google search will show you so many success stories that it’s difficult to doubt the effectiveness of Minoxidil in promoting facial hair growth.
Minoxidil Topical Liquid for Beards
We recommend Minoxidil Topical Liquid, not Foam for beards. Read why further down the page.
Furthermore, one of the listed ‘side effects‘ of Minoxidil is “unwanted hair growth”. Clearly, there are plenty of places you don’t want hair to grow – the palms of your hands, for example, or on your eyelids!! – but there are a number of reports of Minoxidil users growing random, but noticeable, hair on their foreheads where traces of Minoxidil have dripped down from their scalp.
This all points toward Minoxidil being a particularly effective treatment for growing facial hair.
All that said, it does seem to take a considerable amount of time to grow a proper, full-on beard. As we have mentioned on various other pages, Minoxidil takes time to work. On the scalp, in cases of Male Pattern Baldness, the advised time scale is around four months, but with beards, it seems the best results come from those who have been using Minoxidil for around a year.
That may sound like a long time, we agree. But growing a beard isn’t an overnight thing. Beards take time, dedication and care. That’s why so many men treasure their beard!
In conclusion, Minoxidil does appear to work very well for beard growth.

Minoxidil for Beards. Liquid of Foam?
There is little difference in the effectiveness of the two versions of Minoxidil. The active ingredient is the same, the strength is the same. We recommend the liquid form because of the application. Think of it like this… you squirt a handful of foam in to your hand and massage in to your beard. Most of the compound will be on the hairs of your beard, which isn’t good. The Minoxidil needs to be directly on your skin, to have any effect.
The Topical Liquid is applied with a dropper and is considerably easier to get through any beard hair, right to your skin. Makes sense, we think!
